The D-section band is the classic elegant wedding band design.  It takes its name from the capital letter D of the cross section, rounded on the outside and flat on the inside.  Our 18ct white gold D-section bands are generously solid and made to last a lifetime.  Each ring is handmade personally by Kelvin, from the start (alloying the gold) to the finish (the final gleaming polish).  Small 4-gramme ingots are blended by melting on  a charcoal block before either being painstakingly rolled to the D-section shape, or being combined with other small ingots to make heavier rings.  This is done to ensure an even 5% of Welsh Gold throughout the ring.  Created for many happy couples over the years, Kelvin’s wedding rings have been delivered to many far flung corners of the world.

Note: Because the polished steel rollers used for Kelvin’s D-section bands only go up to 3mm, he only makes this profile in 2mm, 2.5mm and 3mm widths at present.  For 4mm width and above, see the “cushion profile” ring section.  These are rings that are first made as a flat band, then filed and polished by hand to a very comfortable chunky shape that approximates the D-section one. If preferred, the narrower widths can also be supplied as cushion profile instead of D – contact us for more details.
